Each year, we recognize outstanding professionals, volunteers, and organizations whose work strengthens communities and inspires others across the state. Now is your chance to shine a spotlight on their achievements! Submit a nomination and help us celebrate the vision, dedication, and passion that make our parks, programs, and people thrive.

•    Hall of Fame – Honors an individual who has made outstanding contributions to the parks and recreation field in South Dakota through a long career marked by excellence, leadership, and accomplishment.

•    Professional Service – Recognizes a professional with 10+ years of service who has made a significant impact through leadership, research, advocacy, community outreach, or program development.

•    Young Professional – Celebrates an emerging leader (with less than 10 years in the field) who demonstrates strong leadership potential, active involvement in professional organizations such as SDPRA, creative program development, and contributions that advance the profession.

•    Individual Citation – Acknowledges an individual (not required to be an SDPRA member) who has supported the field through legislative efforts, fundraising, volunteer service, or other meaningful contributions.

•    Organization Citation - Recognizes an organization (not required to be an SDPRA member) that has advanced the field through legislative support, financial contributions, fundraising, or overall promotion of parks and recreation.

•    Community Excellence - Honors a business or community group (not required to be an SDPRA member) for their outstanding efforts in promoting activities that enhance and improve their community.

•    Years of Service – Celebrates individuals who have dedicated their careers to serving South Dakota’s parks and recreation profession. Awards are presented for 20, 30, 40, and 50 years of service, regardless of SDPRA membership status.
